Getting started
The Bridge gives your SaaS app the parts every product needs and nobody wants to build twice: sign-in, teams, roles, subscriptions and feature flags. You add a small SDK to your app, and The Bridge runs the rest.
The pieces
Section titled “The pieces”Workspace. Your account on The Bridge. It holds your apps and the people on your team who manage them.
App. One product you are building. Each app has its own sign-in settings, branding, plans and flags, and its own API keys.
Users and teams. The people who sign in to your app. Users belong to teams (we call them tenants), so a B2B customer can have one company account with many members.
Roles and privileges. What a user may do inside their team. A privilege is a single permission, such as inviting members. A role is a named set of privileges, such as Admin or Member.
Plans and limits. What you sell. A plan has prices on Stripe and can carry usage limits, such as 1,000 projects or 5 seats.
Feature flags. Switches that turn features on or off for everyone, for some teams, or for the teams on a given plan.
What runs where
Section titled “What runs where”In your frontend, the Bridge SDK for your framework adds sign-in, sign-up, team and plan pages as routes in your app. It also tells your code who is signed in, which team they are in, what they are allowed to do, and which flags are on.
In your backend, the SDK checks the user’s token on each request, so an API call is only answered for a signed-in user with the right privileges, plan or remaining quota.
On The Bridge, we store users and teams, run billing through your Stripe account, evaluate flags, and send sign-in emails. You configure all of it in the dashboard, or ask your AI assistant to do it for you.
SDKs are available for Svelte, React, Next.js and Angular on the frontend, and Express and NestJS on the backend.
Start here
Section titled “Start here”The fastest way to set up is from inside the app. Onboarding knows your app’s current state, gives you code for your framework, and checks each step as you finish it.
- Sign up for The Bridge, or sign in if you already have an account.
- Follow the setup in the dashboard. You can do it by hand, or hand it to your coding agent.
Prefer to work from your editor? Connect your AI assistant, then ask it to “add login to my app”. It sets up your workspace and tells you the code to add.
Go deeper
Section titled “Go deeper”Once you are set up, these sections explain each area in detail:
- Authentication: sign-in methods, UI components and protecting routes
- Multi-tenancy: teams, members and switching between them
- Roles and privileges: who may do what
- Billing and subscriptions: plans, prices and limits on Stripe
- Feature flags: rollouts by team, plan or role
- API reference: every endpoint, for server-to-server use
